How consent works
Ask first. Every person. Every session.
Consent comes before recording, from everyone who may speak. Anyone can say no.
Everyone who may speak agrees
Before each session, the clinician asks the patient (or the person who makes health decisions for them) and everyone else in the room who may speak: family, carers, interpreters and students.
Recording waits for consent
Recording can't start until the clinician confirms in the app who agreed. The app keeps a record of who consented, by role, when and how.
Pause and stop are always there
Anyone can ask to pause or stop at any time. Resuming needs consent to be confirmed again. If someone new joins, the app asks the clinician to check with them.
Saying no changes nothing about care
If anyone says no, the clinician writes notes the usual way. There is no penalty, extra cost or wait.
Telehealth, too
Phone and video sessions start with a spoken consent script, recorded in the consent log.
One rule for all of Australia
Some states and territories require every speaker to agree. We apply that stricter rule everywhere, so the product works the same in every state.
For patients
You can say no. Your care will be the same. You can ask to pause or stop at any time.
